There are buses leaving from the Musoc bus station in San Jose every hour starting at 7 am until 5:30 pm. The bus to San Isidro will take about three to three and a half hours. From San Isidro one can take a taxi or a bus to Rio Chirripo Retreat. The three buses that will take you from San Isidro to Rio Chirripo Retreat are at 9:30 am, 2:00 pm and 6:45 pm. They leave from the central market in San Isidro, it takes approximately one and a half hours. From Musoc bus station in San Isidro you can ask a taxi driver to take you to the central market for about 1500 colones. The bus schedule that leaves San Gerardo goes back to San Isidro at 5:15 a.m, 11:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. The fare is 800 colones (roughly $1.60)

You can take a taxi from the airport in San Jose to Rio Chirripo for about $120 to $180 each way. We recommend two taxi services from San Jose, Taxis Johnny and Carlos, please contact us for their phone numbers.
A taxi from San Isidro to Rio Chirripo Retreat will cost about $30 and take 45 minutes. You can find better deals if you look. Tell your driver you are going to San Gerardo de Rivas, not to be confused with San Gerardo de Dota. We can also arrange it for you.
