Yoga classes open to the public at Rio Chirripo Yoga Retreat

Whether you have a regular Yoga practice, only do Yoga once in a while or are new to Yoga, Rio Chirripo Yoga Retreat offers you the opportunity to practice this wonderful discipline in our uniquely designed Yoga room with views of the mountains and the sounds of the river.

The air is full of lush green mountain and river energy so go ahead, inhale deeply and stretch – your mind, body and soul will thank you.

Yoga Teachers at Rio Chirripo Retreat

Maria Pilar Cano (Durga)

Certified Ashtanga and Hatha Yoga teacher and Ayuvedic massage.

She has also worked as a novelist in Miami and as an artist in Spain.

About her class: Durga will take you through a series of asanas based on the traditional Ashtanga yoga. She includes in her session some chanting, omming and adjustments. This class is taught in Spanish.

Noni

Certified Yoga Teacher, learned how to practice and teach the yoga asanas through Giovanni Felicioni, Mary Stewart and Chloe Fremantle (UK), whose inspiration and wisdom came from the enlightened and contemporary approach of Vanda Scaravelli.

About her class: These yoga explorations focus on the befriending of body and breath, heart and mind. By clarifying our awareness through asanas, movement and rest, we can cultivate greater ease, steadiness, flexibility and strength in relationship to our whole self. This class is taught in English.

Megan

Certified Yoga teacher, 200 hour training of Ashtanga and Hatha yoga with Sabina Stahl

About her class: This class is a sequence of powerful, strengthening, yoga moves based on the Yoga Sequence that Sabina Stahl design which basically is a sequence that helps you to build a firm foundation on which you can build your yogic studies as you continue to pursue The Yoga Sequence as a practice. Your body will become strong and flexible; your practice will become less forced and more manageable; your breath will become your focus; and eventually you will be able to quiet your mind. It is designed not only to use every major muscle group in the body, but also it allows you to develop an intuitive practice as your needs and abilities grow and change. Moreover, the program cleanses and reactivates your body, mind, and thoughts. This class is taught in English.
